Holiday parties: some people love them and some people hate them. I for one, love any excuse to drink a festive cocktail and ignore my routine diet of kale salad and green juice (i'm from LA, give me a break.)
This year, I decided to throw an intimate get-together of my own. I've never hosted a holiday soirée before, so the pressure was on to make it memorable. I found that there are three main ingredients that go into a successful holiday party. The first is alcohol, the second is decor and the third (and most important) is the music. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but i've been to a lot of parties. It doesn't matter how amazing the location is or how tasty the h'orderves are--if you have DJ-No-Skills on the decks, your party could potentially fail.
Being that my holiday shin-dig was rather small I didn't see the point in hiring a DJ but still wanted DJ quality sound, and so the infamous google search for speakers began. The results were unanimous: JBL Audio was the way to go.
One easy online order later and my Xtreme Portable speaker arrived. Upon opening the package, I was a little hesitant. You never know if a portable speaker is going to do the job and give you the sound quality you’re looking for, but after playing the first track of the night, I realized that the JBL Xtreme BUMPS. I'm talking like, the neighbors might call my landlord bumps. In addition to the pristine sound quality, connecting my iPhone via bluetooth took two seconds. There is NOTHING worse in life than the headache of unsuccessfully pairing your phone via bluetooth. The speaker is also splash proof, so there was no need to worry about any messy party goers ruining the experience.
Overall, the party was a success and i'm considering hosting another event for New Years!
