We are going to start this post with what I like to call a "session confession." I'll go first: Up until Indochino's Traveling Tailors came to LA last week, I was a menswear blogger that didn't own an actual suit. Scratch that, I was a 23 year old adult that didn't own an actual suit. Like every good man, I strive for perfection, and like every ordinary man, I have found that perfection is out of reach-but not the perfect suit.
Indochino is an online menswear company that has mastered the art of made-to-order custom tailoring at a very appealing price point. Since it's inception in 2007 Indochino has expanded from the world wide web, to well, world wide--creating customized suits for men in over 130 countries!
The Traveling Tailor is the IRL (in real life) pop-up equivalent of their online business that provides men with a 30 minute slice of heaven. When I went in for my fitting, I met Erin Walker one of Indochino's fit specialist who took 14 head-to-toe measurements of my body. The numbers were recorded and compiled into a custom fit profile that Indochino keeps on file for future purchases. After the initial fitting Erin lead me through their impressive fabric, ties and pocket square options that I could customize up to twenty different ways--from lining to lapel type. Can you say hashtag mind-blowing?
By the end of my appointment, the Indochino treatment had me feeling like Kanye. Men really get the shit end of the stick when it comes to retail and Indochino is completely changing the model through their innovative (and attainable) approach to menswear. I couldn't have asked for a better way to loose my suit virginity because a man in a well tailored suit will always shine brighter than a guy in an off-the-rack suit.
If you're in LA stop by the Indochino Pop-Up at 350 S. Beverly Drive, Beverly HIlls, CA--they're only in town until March 2nd, so be sure to book your appointment ASAP rocky!
