Having grown up in the fantasy land of Los Angeles, i'm no stranger to Christian Louboutin's iconic red soles. Unlike Iggy Azalea, they do wear these where I come from--and in a way, it's made me jaded.
I recently met with the Louboutin team in New York and got the inside scoop on their Homme Bench Made collection. When I opened the email and downloaded these images my jaw dropped a little bit. In a weird way, I had forgotten that you invest in Loubitoun's for the craftsmanship---not to solidify your place on the social totem pole of life.
By definition, a labor of love is a task done for pleasure, not reward. People often say if you love what you do, then you'll never have to work a day in your life. If i could describe the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into every pair of Louboutin(s), it would be this. However, I can't imagine that creating the world's most beautiful shoe, isn't rewarding. From shaping the last to polishing the shoe and each step in-between, the journey of a Christian Louboutin shoe is a tale of craftsmanship worth telling again and again.
Every Christian Louboutin Men's bench made shoe is created through a unique process that has been specially developed, enabling the signature use of mixed materials, rare materials and special embroideries, to be executed with the highest possible level of quality.
Working directly with Christian, experienced artisans use a combination of traditional and innovative techniques to fully realize his designs. Due to extensive training and experience, they are able to create the shoes from beginning to end, including the preparation of the raw materials which is usually done at a separately located tannery, and execute delicate time-consuming production processes.
